How We Research and Check This Site

This site covers government benefits, where a wrong figure can cost somebody a device they cannot otherwise afford. These are the standards we hold ourselves to, published so you can hold us to them as well.

Where our facts come from

Every program rule, dollar figure and deadline on this site is taken from a primary source. In practice that means four places:

  • The FCC — program design, benefit amounts, official consumer guidance
  • USAC — eligibility rules, income limits, accepted documents, minimum service standards
  • The Code of Federal Regulations — the actual rules, for anything where the exact wording matters
  • The providers themselves — for offers, prices and terms, taken from their own published pages

We do not source facts from other guides in this niche. During research for these pages we found an official site still publishing 2024 income figures in 2026, and widely-cited affiliate pages listing tablet offers a provider’s own website did not mention. Copying other people’s summaries is how that spreads.

How we handle what we cannot verify

Some things in this subject genuinely cannot be pinned down. Device stock changes weekly and varies by ZIP code; no third party can tell you truthfully what a carrier has in a warehouse today.

Where that is the case we say so, and then give you a way to check for yourself, rather than publishing a confident number that will be wrong by next month. A page that admits its limits is more useful than one that does not have any.

Independence

No provider pays to appear on this site, and no provider can pay to rank higher. Where we say a company is worth checking first, that is because of what it offers, not what it pays.

[IF YOU USE AFFILIATE LINKS, KEEP THIS PARAGRAPH AND DELETE THE NEXT ONE.] Some outbound links earn us a commission. Those relationships have no bearing on our recommendations or ordering, and we disclose them on every page where they appear.

[IF YOU DO NOT USE AFFILIATE LINKS, KEEP THIS ONE INSTEAD.] We currently earn nothing from any provider link on this site. If that changes, this page will change first.

Keeping pages current

Every page carries a visible last-updated date. We review the whole site quarterly, and immediately whenever something material changes — a benefit amount, an income threshold, a program closing or reopening.

Three things get checked on every review: the federal income limits, which are reissued annually; the status of each program, since one has already ended mid-cycle; and provider offers, which move fastest of all.

Corrections

If we get something wrong, the fix is simple: tell us, we check it against the primary source, and if you are right we correct the page and note what changed. We do not quietly edit and pretend nothing happened.

Send corrections to [email protected] or through the contact page. Include the page and, if you have one, the source that shows we are wrong.

What this site is not

We are an independent publisher, not a government agency, a carrier or an application service. Nothing here is legal or financial advice. Program rules are set by the FCC and administered by USAC, and where our reading of a rule differs from theirs, theirs is correct — always confirm anything that matters on the official sites before you act on it.

Found Something Wrong?

We would genuinely rather know. Corrections are read and acted on.
